MEDIATION ATTENDANCE

Support and guidance throughout mediation

Mediation can be a complex and high-pressure environment, particularly where important decisions are being made in real time.

We offer attendance at mediation to provide support, guidance and strategic input throughout the process, ensuring you remain focused, informed and confident in your decision-making.

OUR ROLE

A steady and strategic presence

Our role during mediation is to support you in navigating discussions, assessing proposals and maintaining a clear and structured approach.

We assist in identifying what is reasonable in the context of your matter, provide guidance in response to offers as they arise, and help ensure that any potential outcomes are considered carefully before decisions are made.

This allows you to remain focused on the process, while having the benefit of real-time legal and strategic input.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Decisions made in the moment can have lasting impact

Mediation often involves making decisions within tight timeframes, sometimes in response to evolving proposals or shifting positions.

Without support, it can be difficult to assess whether an outcome is appropriate, or to confidently respond to offers as they arise.

Having structured guidance throughout the process can make a significant difference to both your experience of mediation and the outcome achieved.

WHAT THIS INCLUDES

Support before and during mediation

  • Pre-mediation review of your matter and preparation

  • Attendance at mediation with you

  • Real-time advice and strategic guidance during negotiations

  • Assistance in assessing and responding to proposals

  • Support in maintaining a clear and structured approach

SUITABILITY

When mediation attendance may be appropriate

Mediation attendance may be appropriate where your matter involves complexity, where significant decisions are likely to be made, or where you would benefit from support in navigating negotiations in real time.

This service is generally only suitable for lawyer-assisted mediations. In some mediation processes, legal representatives are not permitted to attend. In those circumstances, we are still able to assist you in preparing for mediation through a pre-mediation strategy session, ensuring you approach the process with clarity and a structured plan.

In most cases, mediation attendance is discussed following a strategy session to ensure it is suitable for your circumstances and that appropriate preparation has taken place.

NEXT STEP

Start with preparation

If you are considering having legal support at mediation, the first step is to ensure you are appropriately prepared.

We recommend beginning with a strategy session, where we can review your matter and determine whether mediation attendance is suitable for you.

Approach mediation with support and clarity

Having the right support in place can assist you in navigating mediation with confidence and making informed decisions at each stage of the process.
